Getting train tickets is really a trouble for many but what if we tell you that now you can book a rail ticket online and get it delivered home. Also, the payment can be made once you are satisfied with the ticket proceedings.

Yes, now IRCTC has taken up the initiative of “cash on delivery” (CoD) system rail ticketing. Through the services, IRCTC is targeting those customers who are reluctant to use their credit or debit cards.
This Facility Is used By anyone or Those candidates who don’t have any net-banking facility will also be targeted through this.
According to a senior IRCTC official, “One has to just book the ticket online and payments will be made at the time of delivery of tickets.” said a senior IRCTC official involved with the project.
The official added that the scheme has been launched on pilot basis.
“The service will be available in more than 200 cities and the customers can book a ticket 5 days prior to commencement of journey. This is another attempt to move people away from the ticket counters and decongest the booking windows,” he further stated.
Rates of charge will be like this:
  • Rs 40 for the delivery of each Sleeper Class ticket
  • Rs 60 will be charged for an AC class ticket #IRCTC
